In reply to the discussion: Biden diagnosed with 'aggressive form' of prostate cancer [View all]LiberalArkie
(18,451 posts)14. I wonder when he stopped getting a yearly PSA test?
If he was still getting the PSA test he would have maybe known a while back and just decided not to do anything at his age. If I am told I have any cancer I won't do anything myself. But that is just my decision. Guys sometimes decide they want to just get it over with as prostate -> bone cancer can sometimes not be that bad except for the bone pain.
I think at 75 my doc said it was not recommended any more, but I still get it as I am only 77. But I did stop getting the colonoscopy as it was just too much of a hassle as I have to pay people to take me and pick me up. I think metastatic prostate cancer is around 2 year life expectancy and colon cancer is sometime way out there.
I wish him luck with whatever he decided.

Shattering news, except for the cancer being hormone-sensitive. Praying for effective treatment.

This started as prostate cancer and then spread to the bone as prostate cancer does if not fixed.

He may have suspected it. A lot of us old guys just feel something down there isn't right.

Exactly!!! It is about the trend, not a number on a certain date that might be "in range" ...

Here is hoping for an effective treatment. There is a lot they can do today even with metastatic PCa.
