9. Nevermind that demanding Powell cut the interest rates is exactly

"playing politics" because he's mainly interested in it having a positive impact on his political fortunes. And possibly his own personal fortunes, since I'd imagine he has owes a lot more $$$ than he has invested in vehicles that benefit from higher interest rates.

At the same time I wonder how prescriptive higher interests rates are for inflation that's mostly caused by higher tariffs. Seems to like, I dunno, the Rx for that type of inflation would be, you know, lowering the tariffs, but I'm not an economist.
