And he ended up staying down there in Alabama and raising a family - I think in Montgomery (still having babies into his 70s 
). I have no idea why. I only remember meeting him once when he came up to visit like 50 years ago. I guess he could have gone to Lincoln, which is right here in PA (where my dad had gone) but... 
My great-grandparents on my father's side went to Atlanta U - classes of 1883 & 1884 (now combined as Clark-Atlanta U) and I have a cousin who went there and decided to move to and stay in GA with her mom (my mother's sister).
My mother was adamant about not going below the Mason-Dixon line.
