In reply to the discussion: White House tells federal workers they can quit now, get paid through September [View all]littlemissmartypants
(26,473 posts)54. Your husband's position and your status are not the issues here.
It's whether or not you both are going to put your lives and futures into the hands of a crook and a psychopath.
All of the money in the world doesn't insure you will be treated fairly or that past promises to you or anyone will be honored going forward.
Besides, if you don't have all that cash cut into incremental scattered amounts when he abolishs the FDIC your circumstances could rapidly change.
But that's not the point. That we are even debating this is nonsensical.

Get lawyers and fight this at every level. These are not appointed positions, they are career public servants. nt

It wasn't budgeted to pay for someone to not work 9 months. This is theft of taxpayer dollars.

That means no one will be getting paid after March regardless of taking this offer or not

Does the executive office have the ability to make this offer without legislation? Nope. This is another con.

The goal is not to hire replacements. President Musk talked about this on the campaign trail.

It's not exactly quitting per se. They will be allowed to work remotely...telework....until September, at which

Well, there is no money budgeted for any federal workers, I guess. Including my husband....

Definitely a scam. My worry is that even those feds who do not resign with this scam, may stop being paid altogether.

My husband, who has direct knowledge of this, says they will continue to telework...they are not stopping working entirely

Likewise, we are staying and fighting as long as possible, and my husband will continue his work as long as possible in

My husband is holding an all hands today on the deferred resignation program from OPM.

How much would it take to pay off Trump to stop destroying stuff and leave America alone?

I actually think the hatred is more important to him than the money at this point, he just uses the money as a weapon

The federal workforce is not bloated. It is only 1.9% of the total civilian workforce.

Those who stayed still got paid, got health insurance under the union contract and continued to
