And they worked like dogs to get them. This is where my feelings of hopelessness re: our democracy get cemented. North Carolina may be trending purple, but their Supreme Court is young and certainly not going to do people of color, women, lgbtq, workers, or voters any favors.

31 states have a Republican controlled Supreme court.

The real problem we have is the filthy rich in this country being able to patiently fight the long game knowing their status is secure. They spend tens of millions of dollars hiring rubes to go fight their Turfroots wars playing them as if they were pieces on a GO board, knowing full well that soon enough every opponent pieces has been removed and the game is over.
