During an interview on Fox Business Monday, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala, called for the military to act as security for former President Donald Trump in the wake of a second apparent assassination attempt.
“They’re trying to kill the only guy that has a chance to get this fixed,” Tuberville said. “And of course, President Biden- I don’t know who’s running our country but somebody needs to step to the plate and at least act like you care about a Republican candidate but they truly don’t. ... “They could care less. There needs to be SEAL teams, there needs to be military.”
Tuberville said “I don’t think there’s any doubt” there will be another attempt on Trump’s life before the November election.
“They’re going to do everything they possibly can to keep him out of office,” Tuberville added. “Look at all of the things they’ve already done and none of them have worked. The guy is ‘Teflon Don,’ but I am gonna tell you I’m worried about his family, I’m worried about him, I’m worried about the America we’ve grown up in.”
