(45,319 posts)You switched materials when confronted with feeding the poor via hunting. I eat meat that is all local, humanely raised (have a fit over that word, feel free) and fully organic, raised by people whose names I know. Your OP attacks the hunter, me, the farmers, and says we eat our siblings. Your OP is not about industrial farming methods at all, it is about how great you are compared to others.
Have you spent much time on the subject of industrial farming of plant foods? Because that factory thing, it is not magically wonderful because it raises veg.
To make a field of veg, you start with a natural habitat and you displace or kill all the animals and insects that live there, their home is your plot of food. Cruelty free food! Next comes water. And labor. Who does the labor and how are they treated, are they compensated well, do they live in shacks, are they unionized, are their kids living as well as your kids? It's allegedly ethically sound food, this is vegetables and thus free of all cruelty.
So once we kill the pests and plow the rest under with machines and change the land, divert masses of water and abuse a few hundred workers we hand you a bowl of ultra righteous cruelty free food!!!
