In reply to the discussion: 'MAGA is very angry': Conservative strategist says new pope is in far right's 'crosshairs' [View all]no_hypocrisy
(51,850 posts)In 1978, the original Pope John Paul (Albino Luciani) lived only 35 days after his ascendancy. Just over a month. He was a relatively healthy and enhanced middle-aged man.
After he became pope, he had set six plans down which would dictate his pontificate:
To renew the church through the policies implemented by Vatican II.
To revise canon law.
To remind the church of its duty to preach the Gospel.
To promote church unity without watering down doctrine.
To promote dialogue.
To encourage world peace and social justice.

Sound familiar?
It was said he died of a heart attack in his sleep.
Rumor had it that his days were numbered when he stated that he was going to review the finances of The Vatican.
Pope Leo should just be cognizant of his predecessor.
