9. I've been suggesting to my immediate family to purchase anything extra that they already use

Currently there's a Hershey's cocoa powder shortage and this doesn't have anything to do with tariffs, the cocoa shortage is from the crops being ruined to a dry season in West Africa. It's still problematic because it's a product that I purchase on a regular basis.

Foods, spices and drinks (especially coffee) You can't stock up on bananas and fresh pineapple but I do recommend purchasing extra nut products if you eat any type of nuts, spices, tea and coffee. If you like a certain brand of peanut butter, buy extra.

IF you're a rice and beans type of person, purchase extra. If you're not a rice and beans person, don't purchase extra.

Personal hygiene products (shaving cream, shaving razors, dental floss, band aids)

Electronics (If you have a 5 year old cell phone go ahead and replace it now)

Small appliances (coffee makers, toasters) We're really hard on coffee makers in our home, we generally need to purchase a new coffee maker every 2 to 3 years.

Shoes

Clothing (I have an adult child that's tall and thin so their pant size is already difficult to locate in stores. I have better luck online shopping so I've made some online purchases for their clothing for future gift giving)

Pet food

I've been preparing for an absolute shit show since Nov. 5, 2024 and because we have an idiot at the helm, here some items that I have extra of:

Toilet paper, acetaminophen, feminine and personal hygiene products, hand, liquid dish soap, laundry soap, parchment paper, ink pens, notebooks, vacuum packed bed pillows (yes, ordered the pillows from Amazon and easily stored with bed sheets), extra shower curtains, cleaning products, coffee filters, coffee beans, rubbing alcohol, household batteries, and light bulbs.

I'm not talking about hoarding items, I'm talking about being prepared for one's own well-being.

I can't believe that we have to worry about this shit, but here we are.
