He doesn't care how much damage it does to the economy or how many businesses go under-he thinks that if Americans buy anything from China we are losing money so it should stop there's no twelve dimensional chess here"

I agree with this analysis by Micah on bluesky. Not that familiar with him or her, but they have 77K followers and this post is better analysis of trump's frame of mind than the BS dished out by most corporate journalists.

So...if we stop buying anything from China, how does that help the average American? Is that too difficult for someone in the press pool to ask?
