1. Without having national injunctions on things like this, which affect EVERYONE, we'd end up with a huge mess

Having a patchwork of varying levels of enforcement of federal laws, and having them apply in some places and not the other would be a disaster. I hope the supreme court gives some clarity on this. I can see having some things apply only in certain circuits, but big constitutional issues need to be settled nationwide.
