28. I agree, something like this is bubbling under Trump's actions

But, can the many very powerful people trust Trump to carry them across the finish line? I have some thoughts on this that may or may not be illuminating. It’s pretty hard to figure out what Trump’s endgame is, perhaps even for Trump. I think he’s shown himself to be a kind of immediate return guy.
The only thing that might slow him down is if further legitimizing crypto will lessen his wealth status. Trump strikes me as a hard asset show off. “Look what I own. Not just numbers like those investor entrepreneur types. I own real property. I own expansive land, towers, places the rich want to go, and shiny things.” He hasn’t seemed overly interested in financial markets, even less in crypto. I don’t think he ultimately wants to do anything to make these assets appear more valuable or prestigious. This doesn’t mean he won’t try to make a killing off crypto to further insulate him empire from the whims of the banks, financiers, and free market. Sure, much of his recent gains in wealth are also going to be hard to sell in huge quantities, but he might already have enough wealth and power that he thinks the rich and powerful need to do something for him just to maintain their status quo. I’m thinking Trump’s 2025 balance sheet looks nothing like his 2016. I think he’ll be coercing deals that will raise his comparative prestige while adding as much wealth as possible.
