In reply to the discussion: Dem Voters Overwhelmingly Say U.S. Should Cut Aid to Israel Until It Stops Attacking Civilians [View all]struggle4progress
(123,159 posts)11. I agree but when the Israelis gave the Gaza Strip self-government, Gazans chose Hamas
(that is, Iranian-backed death-to-Israel terrorists) who then organized a terrorist attack on innocent civilians, with entirely predictable results
People are responsible for the foreseeable consequences of their actions; and we should suspect the October attacks were planned in the hopes of generating a dreadful response -- since the use of hospitals to stash terrorists and hostages (say) could only result in horror stories
There are potertial solutions but they are all long, difficult, expensive aand dangerous -- and require an almost saintly transcendence from many actors, which is difficult when so many are hurting on all sides or have such deep and stupid ideological commitments

Netanyahu barely won back in 2022. Hopefully, on October 27 of next year, Likud will be voted out.

"Military aid" is an understatement. The US bears responsibility for the thousands of children killed by Israeli forces.
