They tend to be a positive force most of the time, but can be shifted to the negative side with some stimuli. It takes more for some, but far less for others.

And, as you say, there is a significant number of negative people who are on the bad side of things most of the time. Learning to recognize and avoid those people is a valuable life skill.

I can't see the need for a supernatural force in this. The positive people take the positive aspects of their deities and such. The negative ones choose the negative aspect of those, too.

It's too easy to ascribe behavioral tendencies to an invisible force. That's not needed, and will often lead as astray.

Or so I believe, anyhow.
