199. I'm glad to see that a couple of vile comments were removed.

I have been on DU for many years. My profile may not reflect that, but I lurked here for a very long time before deciding to join. There used to be some really bad flame wars here, back in the early days. I also lost my original posting identity, back during one of the change overs in versions of DU.

I have never had to alert on someone's comments in all the years that I have been a member. This thread changed that for me. Thank you, MIRT, for deleting the comments.



As democrats, I know we need to be able to disagree with each other and have tough discussions. But the removed comments were cruel and contained personal attacks on the commentator for the original OP. She doesn't deserve those kind of attacks.

The attacker also seemed to be spouting false information about COVID-19.

Thank you MIRT, and thank you EarlG and Elad for keeping DU the decent place it is, to hold discussions.
