In reply to the discussion: Once again the Catholic Church comes to the aid of fascism. [View all]peppertree
(22,850 posts)56. Well said. This is, to me, the most disappointing thing he's said or done since becoming Pope.
Being Argentine, Francis knows full well what Opus Dei types are capable of - and he should know just how much those very types are counting on El Cheeto to win.
I've noticed that in the last few years, he's made more and more of these pointless overtures to the Catholic RW (they decided they hate from day one, and still do).
But that he would make such a stupid false equivalency between Trump and Harris, to me, is now officially his jumped-the-shark moment.
Qué pena (what a shame)

Exactly. Equating Harris and trump as evil to some degree shows how evil the RCC is.

It would be nice if we had a Supreme Court that upheld the separation of church and state.

The last thing I'm going to do is accept moral advice from the fascist, pedophile-protecting catholic church

This commentary is about as ridiculous and reactionary as the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Historically, the Catholic doesn't have much of a track record when it has injected itself into politics

Kinda like a priest that sexually abused alter boys vs one that doesn't? Clean up your own mess!

The Catholic Church loves them some child rapists. It's not like we didn't know.

Francis could have just not taken the interview until after the election. He chose NOT to endorse Tscf.
