And I think it all stems from his fear of being taxed.
The first I'd heard he wanted to colonize Mars, I thought, wow, that'll be tough. Now when I looked into it, it's not going to be tough, it's going to be impossible. Humans in our current form will not survive on Mars, let alone on a one-way journey there. That planet supports no life. Its atmosphere cannot support humans in any way shape or form, because there's no ecosystem that supports even simple life forms...that we know of. But even if it does support subterranean micro-life, humans don't stand a chance there. It's a crazy stupid idea that Musk seems to believe in...for the preservation of human life. WTF!? Is that his vision?
How about addressing preserving live on Earth first? What about that? You know why can't he tackle that idea? It's because he doesn't have a working solution that prevents tyrants on Earth from destroying perhaps the only planet in the universe that can support complex life and humans. Still, that would be way easier than trying to build an atmosphere and ecosystems on another planet to support the full-quiver of children his spawning.
Elon Musk, in my book, is more evil than good. He's done a lot of good things, but now he's just fragmented in all directions, crazy dangerous directions.
