Let's talk about Trump, rooting for a side, experts, and information.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump, rooting for a side, experts, and information.

I got a message and I think it's worth explaining because the root of the message is actually a big part of why all of this is happening. "I bet you're really happy with yourself. Ever since you said Operation Midnight Hammer was going to fail, you've been just so happy that things keep going against Trump. Have you ever thought about rooting for our side? You sit here and say this or that won't work, just wishing for our troops to fail. People like you are why I didn't join the military even though the recruiter kept calling me. Why should I fight for people who want me to fail? Maybe talk about how it could go right and for our side.”

Aw, did you almost join after high school? It's funny because people like you are a big part of why I did. I had to get out of a one-horse town filled with people just like you. I'm not joking when I say I told the recruiter he had to get me out on the next bus or I wasn't going.

I would try to explain that stating the likely scenario isn't rooting for anything. It's an objective analysis of facts. I would try to relate this using international affairs or the military, but I feel like that won't land. So, let's try this a different way.

Aside from actually signing up, I also later became a nurse. So, let's try to use a doctor's visit. When a doctor looks at a test result and gives a patient a terminal diagnosis and says they have 6 months, do you think they're rooting for that to happen or is it just the objective analysis of facts?

I want you to picture being in an ER and every doctor in the place is like, "Hey, your legs broke." They show you the X-ray. They explain what happens if you proceed without treatment. They do all the patient education, but you decide to listen to the guy in the waiting room wearing a red hat who is telling you to rub some dirt on it and walk it off. Then when you don't make it out of the parking lot, you come back and tell the team of doctors that you're oh so mad at them and that they should have been rooting for you. As if if they had rooted for you, your leg wouldn't be broke or the entire geopolitical reality would change and oil wouldn't need to go through the Strait simply because that's how you want it.

I do talk about how it could go right for our side every time I say Trump needs to declare victory and leave. You want to support the troops? Support the truth. You want to do something for the troops? Let them leave the military as veterans instead of turning them into combat veterans every time some politician tells you he had a feeling, or they'll be greeted as liberators, or whatever else he comes up with to get you to root for him.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
