Should Democrats boycott the State of the Union? Some have alternative plans - MS NOW Reports

Democrats and other political figures opposed to Trump are preparing to attend alternative events to the State of the Union speech on Tuesday. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has urged Democrats not to skip the speech. Former DHS Chief of Staff Miles Taylor and MS NOW Political Analyst Molly Jong-Fast join Alex Witt to share their analysis. - Aired on 02/22/2026.

There are two groups boycotting the SOTU. One is hosted by Meidas Touch and Move-On at 8:30PM and a different group at 7 PM.

I'd like to see the 7:00 PM group head over to the other group once it's over since that starts at 8:30 PM. Make one, big, beautiful boycott.

"People’s State of the Union’
Held at 8:30 p.m. on the National Mall. The rally, which will feature “everyday Americans most impacted by Trump’s dangerous agenda,” is hosted by liberal group MoveOn Civic Action, progressive media company MeidasTouch and other coalition partners.

State of the Swamp’
Held at the National Press Club at 7 p.m. that same night.

I absolutely know that I couldn't possibly sit through his nonsense again. My plan is to hear what the MS NOW team, led by Rachel Maddow, has to say. That's as close as I want to get.

that I actually watched straight through. I get super pissed off really fast and it is not a pleasant experience. I end up ranting and raving then I'm exhausted. I'm a passionate person and I just can't take it.

I just had the image of Greene and Boebart doing their howler monkey impressions....I will certainly not be looking at that BS ever again! I know Greene is gone but there are too many others filling her place.

And even then, especially if they show clips, it sends me over the edge. I still feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone that there are actually fellow Americans who voted for this felon, especially after January 6th, which we all saw. I have Liz Cheney's book and she said that too many of her fellow Republicans were afraid of being threatened if they voted yes on impeachment and others used the excuse that he was leaving office anyway...

Don’t watch the madman! Let others take one for the team. I’m hoping that the room will be half empty, at least, and T is led out in a babbling fit! Time willl tell! Take care!💗🙏🏼💐
