Related: About this forum"Catastrophic": Trans Youth Lose Access to Care as Hospitals Capitulate to Trump Attacks
As President Trump continues to sign new executive orders attacking transgender people and their rights, we hear voices of protest from New York, where hundreds of people rallied Monday outside NYU Langone Hospital in Manhattan to demand it continue providing gender-affirming care for trans patients, after news that some patients had been dropped by the hospital. This comes after the Trump administration signed an order withholding federal research and education grants from hospitals that offer gender-affirming care to transgender people under 19.

Seattle Childrens Postpones Trans Teens Surgery Indefinitely
Hospital Staff Told Family It Was to Comply with Trump Order

Feb 4, 2025
Seattle Childrens Hospital postponed a transgender teens masculinizing top surgery only hours before it was scheduled allegedly to comply with one of President Donald Trumps executive orders targeting health care access for trans people under the age of 19. The family says its unclear if or when the procedure would be rescheduled.
According to the family, hospital staff called their 16-year-old son Monday evening and explained the hospital had postponed his surgery in accordance with Trumps executive order banning all federal support for gender-affirming care for trans people under the age of 19, which among many things, threatens to withhold federal funds from hospitals that provide such care.
The family says they were told during a meeting with surgical center staff Tuesday morning that if the hospital lost access to those federal funds, other childrens care would be at risk, and the decision was made with the entire community's interest in mind.
Seattle Childrens Hospital did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Nearly a quarter 24 percent of community hospitals in the U.S. were classified as for-profit in 2019, while more than 57 percent were nonprofit and nearly 19 percent were controlled by a state, county or city government.

Sorry, these are the last numbers I could easily find.
The Federal government is obviously violating the laws deliberately, so hopefully this funding cut off will be restrained by the courts. The b;lame for this has to stay on the criminals now running our government.
