Sen. Bernie Sanders questioned Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., President Donald Trumps choice to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, about messaging on merchandise sold by an organization founded by Kennedy.
Childrens Health Defense, an organization that says its mission is ending childhood health epidemics by eliminating toxic exposure, sells onesies for babies that have printed phrases on them like No Vax. No Problem. and Unvaxxed, Unafraid.
For years, Kennedy, an environmental lawyer, has spread misinformation and falsehoods about vaccines and their safety, including the heavily debunked claim that they cause autism. Kennedy has also promoted drinking raw milk, which the Food and Drug Administration says can pose a serious health risk. His views on these issues and others have prompted concern among health experts about his nomination.
