Hiding, silent, pretending they didn't hear it or know about it, excusing it if they can be persuaded to acknowledge it at all - not wanting to incur the disfavor of Dear Leader. Like in North Korea.

If they stand by and do nothing, they won't ruffle Dear Leaders feathers.
I think back to the moment in 2008 at a televised town hall, when presidential candidate John McCain corrected a delusional woman who had accused Barrack Obama of being an "Arab". We're certainly not seeing that sort of civility with today's GOP.
