(92,495 posts)That was a really good, more intimate event, even with gawd knows how many on zoom. These are really well done and I'm glad they celebrated the people who organized the previous zoom gatherings.
The thing that made me laugh was the one lady on remote who gushed over Kamala and then said, oh, hi Oprah like she was an afterthought.
I did miss about ten minutes of it because I had to receive delivery on my car that was having the windshield resealed. But this was a very powerful event, I hope these keep going and that creative new ways to reach out come about. Bound to happen with so many working on it.

And having Oprah there really was a plus, she's a pro at orchestrating these events and showcased Kamala Harris very well!
And I'm sorry about your windshield, I can't believe it's already autumn, seems like summer went by in a flash!

(92,495 posts)It had been leaking for a while because there was rust under the sealant. But they cleaned it all out and put a new strip and sealed it all up and even gave me ride home and delivered it when it was done! The shop is down in town but they live up here on the hill about three blocks away! I'm relieved to have it done properly and for a reasonable price. I was just surprised I hadn't noticed it earlier.

(221,535 posts)I also live in a fairly rural area and I don't know what I would do without my car. The one-and-only thing I don't like about it are the "bucket seats" in the front. I'm constantly losing change or pens down beside the seat, but I know that I'd have to go back a few decades to find a car with bench seats!
