An anti-President Trump conservative group that includes George Conway, husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, endorsed Joe Biden on Wednesday in the 2020 presidential race.
The Lincoln Group endorsed the former vice president's campaign shortly after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) withdrew from the contest, paving the way for Biden to become the Democratic nominee.
The organization said it is "committed to ensuring that Joe Biden is sworn in on January 20, 2021."
"Joe Biden has the experience in politics, in government and in life to lead the United States out of our current crisis," said co-founder Reed Galen. "As America contends with unprecedented loss, we need a leader who can steady our ship of state, bind up our common wounds, and lead us into our next national chapter. Joe Biden has the humanity, empathy and steadiness we need in a national leader."

(67,782 posts)....that on the day Daniel Pearl was murdered "President" Obama was playing golf.
The divisive, deplorable woman neglected to say that in 2002, when Pearl was murdered, Obama was just a State Senator in Illinois, not even a US Senator yet.
They are disgusting!

(305,196 posts)George Conway seems to be super savvy about what a malignant idiot trump is.. and how he can be married to one of trump's main pushers of fake news is mind boggling.
Thank you for this, Bill.

(7,001 posts)The GE is months away, all anyone is going to remember is how fucked up the spring was. All that's required is a saturation carpet bombing of every media starting about Oct 1. That's as long (or actually longer) than most people's attention spans

(7,001 posts)Biden is better off showing that he is the adult in the room, as opposed to wasting time and money pointing fingers. To say nothing of any miscues being used against him. When it gets closer to the time, then go for the full-on aerial bombardment from media

(96,043 posts)People are spending a lot of time looking at various screens nowadays, more than usual it would seem.
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

(7,001 posts)this far out, and with all the background noise, it's sorta pointless. No one really cares. Well, they care, but November is a long way off. I think most would prefer the election to be tomorrow, get it over with and get IQ45 out. Start it about mid-summer perhaps. Now, it's better for Biden to look like the adult in the room. His compassion and sincerity will win far more points than beating negatives into the ground. So far, in this cycle, there has been almost nothing gained, and a lot of time and money (as well as support) lost by folks who have gone on the attack, especially at the wrong moment. It has nearly always backfired. Biden has stayed back from that, and it is to his benefit, IMO. People are sick of it. They really are. They want a President who can act like one. When the time comes, let Bloomberg and the Nevertrumpers blast away at IQ45, and keep Joe mostly above the fray.

It may well be CA's cost of living and property values being out of control outweigh reason. A burst bubble seems inevitable. Not sure how to argue on that topic.

(11,476 posts)This is certainly a case in point. But NeverTrumpers should be welcome to the 2020 fold because they recognize the incredible threat that Trump and his criminal band pose to our security, our survival as a democratic Republic.
Never thought I'd say that about any group of Republicans. However, as someone said upthread, this proves that some conservatives have principles they're not willing to toss overboard for the sake of naked power-grabbing. Not this time at least.
Regardless of the past, it's time to reach out to this contingent with an open hand, rather than a clenched fist. Right now, we're on the same side with the same goal: crushing Trump and his enablers.
Strange times, indeed!
