(14,815 posts)I was actually for Pete, but voted for Biden after it was clear Pete wasn't moving forward.
And I voted for Sanders last time around.
But I would vote for my hound dog if she was the nominee going up against that malignant monster.
And I will vote!!!!!!

(9,592 posts)But I think that it would settle better not to ask for the vanquished candidates to make pledges right now, but closer to the convention.
Right now it is more like pouring salt into a wound.

(116,607 posts)the day after Beto withdrew and nobody had a clue that those were his intentions.
Bernie and his supporters have known the outcome for weeks. Pardon me if I don't have a lot of sympathy or tolerance for them after the abusive conduct by some of those individuals. I believe that they have had ample opportunity to "get over it."

(9,592 posts)All the more reason to be the better person and not spread that type of behavior.
Besides, while there may be bad seeds amoung some Sanders supporters, there are plenty of Sanders supporters who didn't act that way. If one treats another badly because they were treated badly previously, then it means that one has no moral authority to condemn the person they treated badly for treating others badly.
Or, to put it in another way:
Evil begets evil.

(116,607 posts)No, I haven't treated anybody badly just because I have little sympathy or tolerance for the people that behaved abhorrently and it certainly doesn't mean that my feelings are evil. I didn't inherit any of those negative traits so please don't ascribe their negative behavior on me. Thanks.

(9,592 posts)Let us not allow the combative nature of this forum change that. You know I would never ascribe such trait onto you nor call your actions evil.
I was just discussing the topic you brought up of Sanders supporters treating Beto supporters badly after he withdrew. I never accused you of doing anything of the sort.
You don't have to be sympathetic or to tolerate people you find insufferable to show courtesy.

(116,607 posts)so I apologize for the implications of my previous statement.
Regarding the issue of courtesy, I attempt to be courteous towards everyone whether it is family, friends, or strangers. I also know that occasionally people might do something which is discourteous, but they did not have that intention and I try to forgive when that occurs. When the lack of courtesy becomes intentional, repetitive, or malicious then I have a long memory which is why I don't have much sympathy or tolerance about Bernie's announcement that he suspended his campaign. I know that there are plenty of Bernie supporters that behaved admirably, but there were enough of his supporters that failed to do so which has left me with a bitter aftertaste. Hopefully time will heal those wounds, but the jury is still out.
