Democratic Primaries

NO. It was the voters who chose. Just admit it for a change. It will help your supporters heal and face reality.
And everything isn't corrupt just because they didn't choose you. "a corrupt campaign finance system" Will we ever get to see your reconciliations?
It's so nice he quit, but this speech was just unnecessarily inflammatory. Again. Now we have Trump saying mail-in voting is corrupt.

(38,397 posts)explain how there is no path forward, no delegate leverage except to help write the platform, and then turn them over to Biden in the first vote round of the DNC.
Don't make up what you KNOW he meant.
We've been through a Bernie loss before.
Stop fussing. This will be his last rodeo.

(17,377 posts)VOTERS rejected Bernie. His implications about delegates match all the other sinister implications about "rigged" elections, so it's obvious what he means. It's obvious he can't bring himself to admit that voters rejected him. There is no need to inject inflammatory aspersions about "delegates" as if they are rigged against him. VOTERS chose. The sooner he admits that, the better for his supporters.

(38,397 posts)Stop demanding more.
Your demands that he say what you want are divisive at a time we now need to unify by convention time.

(17,377 posts)He can't admit that voters rejected him. The delegates were only assigned on the basis of what VOTERS chose. To ignore that and blame it on "delegates" is what is divisive. See The Magistrate's post No. 13.
I was repeating Sanders words -- those were the words that were divisive.

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

(96,043 posts)When people cast votes in a primary, they are selecting delegates to the Party's convention. In some states they may be listed as a separate ballot line, with their allegiance noted. In any case, voters send delegates to the convention bound to vote for a specific candidate on the first ballot. Mr. Biden has a much larger number of delegates than Sanders because because a great many voters wanted him to be President, rather than Sanders. A vote for any candidate is necessarily a vote against any other candidates or candidate.
This is not rocket surgery.

Everything you've said here is exactly what Bernie spoke to.
Voting in primaries, yes, is voting against as much as for. You make a distinction without any meaning now that we must move forward in unity.
Sir.

(17,377 posts)Bernie didn't mention that voters rejected him. He brought up "delegates behind Biden" because his smears against delegates is part of his anti-establishment platform. Voters rejected Bernie soundly. Time for him to tell his supporters that voters decided and quit using his anti-establishment crutches. It's not honest and definitely not needed at this time.

I voted for four Biden delegates and for Biden. That is how we do it in my state. The delegates have to circulate petitions just like any other candidate.
