A small group of Bernie Sanderss top aides and allies including his campaign manager and his longtime strategist have encouraged the independent senator from Vermont to consider withdrawing from the presidential race, the Washington Post reports.
Sanders himself has become more open to the prospect of dropping out, especially if he suffers a significant defeat in Tuesdays Wisconsin primary, which polls suggest Joe Biden will win handily.

I am so sick of him but have no confidence that he won't leverage his position to make as much trouble for the Dem'dRepubs (as he insists we are) as he can. After all, he has far more than the 300 delegates he needs to put his name in nomination. Even if he were to drop out, I'm afraid it'd just be part of positioning for attack. He hasn't had a personality transplant.

(1,884 posts)Bernie has some good ideas, but on balance hes not going to beat the pathological con man liar and cheat. Our primary voters have spoken loudly in primaries so far, that Joe is our best chance of beating Trump. As others have said, anyone of our candidates are so much better than that ignorant self absorbed reckless national disgrace, but in the end, we have to go with Joe to win.
