If Biden Gets The Nomination and Trump Wins, Is Bernie Right?

If so, doesn't this mean that Bernie and his campaign have an incentive to once again do their best to sabotage Biden and the Democratic party's chances in 2020?

When you look at Bernie's actions in putting people who were overtly hostile to the Democratic party on the Democratic platform committee, then despite being placed in such positions, Bernie's representatives immediately abandoned the Democratic party and endorsed Jill Stein. After the election, Bernie's campaign surrogates continued to attack the Democratic party and even discussed the silver lining of a Trump Presidency as promoting activism and engagement.

Yet, despite this history, Bernie once again retains many of the who cheerleaded the losses of the Democratic party as his surrogates.

In the past, a lot of us gave Bernie the benefit of the doubt. This time around, is there any reason to expect Bernie and his campaign to act in good faith and not try to once again sabotage Biden and the Democratic party under the belief that it will personally benefit Bernie politically even though it might caused millions of Americans to once again suffer?

As noted by Susan Sarandon below, do Bernie and his surrogates believe that the suffering of the American people will lead to them being woke and in support of their views? Otherwise, if Bernie truly want Biden or the Democratic party to adopt any portion of his platform, he would drop out now, rather than later when the damage is already done.

Why Did Bernie Sanders Put an Obama-Hater on the Democratic Platform Committee?

Stephen Colbert Confronts Susan Sarandon About Her Trump Statements

“You said, ‘Some people feel that Trump might bring about the revolution immediately.’ A) How’s that going? What’s your assessment of how ‘the revolution’ is going?” asked Colbert. “Well, I’m so happy that you asked—not really, but OK we’ll get into it,” replied a visibly uncomfortable Sarandon. “Well, have you seen this many town hall meetings of people from all parties storming and knocking on the doors of their representatives and complaining and screaming and yelling?” “Not since 2010,” Colbert responded. “No. Not since the ‘70s, I think,” shot back Sarandon. “This is really out of control. Now there are town hall meetings everywhere. I saw one in California where they were screaming about ICE coming in and taking people. I mean, people are really awake now because ‘the cracks let the light in,’ as Leonard Cohen would say.”

I’m not buying that trump has one chance of winning. He’s a loser. Everyone including him knows that and Pukes are stuffing their pockets as full as possible before November

Actually I think any Democrat that ran would beat trump. Including Bernie.
But we have chosen Joe. That’s it. The rest is just noise.

If Biden wins because Trump and the Russian smeared him, it follows that they would have done the same to Bernie.
But his supporters will pretend that Bernie would have been immune to negative ads.

Tue Mar 31, 2020, 11:42 PM

Anyone with real ambitions for the presidency, will not want to touch an imploding 2020 GOP with a 10 foot pole. It would have to be some sort of sacrificial lamb but, then, why bother if that person will lose anyway. Probably best to let Trump go down in flames and then try to rebuild the party while seeking out a candidate who is crazy enough to appeal to the Trump base but competent enough to not scare off voters weary of another Trump.

11. She totally misrepresents what Cohen meant by that lyric.
Tue Mar 31, 2020, 09:47 PM
Mar 2020

I doubt Cohen was saying "smash things in order to make things better."

I think, in the context of the song, the message was "don't fret about perfection, it's our imperfections that often help us see the light."

Or to put it another way: "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good," a message I wish Sanders supporters--the neverBiden folks--would take to heart. Not that Bernie represents perfection.

A Leonard Cohen line that I feel much better reflects our times: "I have seen the future, brother. It is murder."

19. Bernie Sanders lambasts 'absolute failure' of Democratic party's strategy
Wed Apr 1, 2020, 11:50 PM
Apr 2020

Yet, this is how Bernie attempted to profit off of Democratic losses in 2016. He pointed to her defeat and how he challenged her as evidence of the "absolute failure" of the Democratic party, as well as evidence of the success of his agenda, even though Hillary Clinton incorporated many of his ideas into the DNC agenda.

Thus, is this why Bernie is once again invested in trying to undermine Democrats in 2020?

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/11/bernie-sanders-lambasts-absolute-failure-of-democratic-partys-strategy

Bernie Sanders has criticised the Democratic party’s current direction as “an absolute failure” in a speech at the People’s Summit in Chicago.

Speaking to a crowd of 4,000 activists, Sanders hailed the “enormous progress in advancing the progressive agenda”, saying the increasing House and Senate support for a $15 minimum wage and the opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership showed the success of the movement.

But the Vermont senator said that establishment Democrats were standing in the way of further progress.

“The current model and the current strategy of the Democratic party is an absolute failure,” Sanders said.
