Democratic Primaries

...it would seen as if Trump was an even bigger Bernie Bro than Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon or Cornell West. At every opportunity it seems that Trump is aiding with Bernie against Biden and Democrats.
Any thoughts on why Trump is feeling the Bern?
Conversely, while Biden has been pretty aggressive with ads and tweets specifically going after Trump's lies, has Bernie made any effort to call out Trump on his misinformation besides reciting his stump speech taling points?

(96,043 posts)It is done in hopes of increasing the number of 'Bernie' followers who will refuse to vote for Mr. Biden, and instead will either not vote, or vote Green, or even vote for the cheap thug itself.
"From Bernies perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they dont want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

(11,476 posts)This goes hand-in-hand with a 'suggestion' that Cuomo would be a better/stronger Democratic nominee than Joe Biden. This is the 'Anyone but Biden campaign'. Sound familiar?
Cuomo to his credit has batted down these suggestions with an emphatic NO and strongly endorsed Joe Biden for President. He's done this while exhibiting leadership skills that Trump is incapable of mustering on his best day.
What really infuriates me is to read self-proclaimed Bernie supporters touting the Trump line: The Democratic Party must run Andrew Cuomo as our nominee. Or Biden's VP selection should be/must be Andrew Cuomo.
Let me suggest something: If you're supporting the Trump meme du jour, you are not a Democrat nor do you have any interest in defeating Trump and his enablers. And I don't give a damn about your reasons or passion.
Kicking Trump and his odious Administration to the curb this November is the only thing that matters. That means getting behind our presumptive nominee without the morbid caveats of 'anything can happen.'
Oh btw, any progressive who now pretends to love Andrew Cuomo better go back and scrub their notes and opinion pieces because Cuomo has been dumped on regularly, called an arrogant bully and/or a DINO at best. This by the very crowd singing the current round of hallelujahs.

(17,744 posts)It seems like Trump has repeatedly attacked Cuomo. I have yet to see Trump attack Bernie with the regularity with which he attacks Cuomo, primarily because Trump wants to place any blame for the situation in NY on Cuomo. But if you are aware of a bunch of pro-Cuomo tweets by Trump, it would be quite a surprise.

The president also took aim at New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, who earlier in the day complained about the lack of ventilators received from the federal government.
I watched Governor Cuomo and he was very nice, the president said of the New York governors press conference, which preceded the Fox News town hall, before attacking Cuomo for complaining about receiving only 3,000 ventilators from the Federal Emergency Management Agency despite needing, in his estimation, at least 30,000 of the devices.
He had a choice. He had a chance, the president continued. He refused to order 15,000 ventilators, Trump said, pulling out a printout of an article from far-right blog The Gateway Pundit and paraphrasing the headline: It says that he didnt buy the ventilators in 2015 for a pandemic, established death panels and lotteries instead.

(11,476 posts)In fact the whole Trump crew were jumping on the Bernie bandwagon, saying how unfair the Senator from Vermont had been treated by the Democratic Party. Because the GOP is all about fairness!
The Cuomo comment came yesterday as Trump continued to flail and saw Cuomo's numbers spike to a whopping 71%. Trump is all about the approval numbers and Trump-flattering polls. The comments I was referring to are here:

This was apparently picked up from a Fox interview. I don't watch Fox, so I ran across the headline in print.
What I find irritating and beyond the pale are recent posts by self-identified Sanders' supporters reiterating the same damn message.
