(369 posts)I can't wait for Bernie to leave the race so that the Obamas can finally start to campaign with the Bidens.
If this primary would end, then the real Powerhouse Dems will come out and crush Trump like a paper cup.

It's does our hearts good to see a good and decent man and imagine him leading us through something so God-awful as we are facing right now. After 3.5 years of a raving lunatic.

Saint Patrick drove the 'snakes' out and so my prayer yesterday and today was for him to come to our aid and rid our country and inhabitants of 'snake-like activity', be it spiritually or humanly based. Amin!

Has no one in Trumps inner circle noticed that he hasnt ONCE made any statement of concern for anyone affected by this crisis? Isnt it obvious that he thinks he is the biggest victim in all this? His beautiful stock market is in shambles, his re-election is endangered and he hasnt been on the golf course in over a week.

(84,216 posts)This is strategic imaging at its best and most powerful.
What the subliminal message is - HERE'S what a President would say. Here's what a President would sound like. Here's how a President would behave: calm - and calming, resolute, honest, reassuring, and in command. Listening to him making this address might evoke in the minds of viewers especially some fleeting thoughts of "shit, wouldn't it be nice if we had a president like this..." or "what would it be like if THIS was the kind of president we had right now..." or "wow - I wish he was the one in charge..." Rather than the bloated, constipated, forked-tongued orange enema bag on legs, who's temporarily occupying OUR White House.
Biden positions himself well against the eventual opponent. He's already got you thinking of him as president because you can kinda picture it already. This is the second time he's done that. This is going to help many voters, unconsciously, add two plus two and get BIG favorables and credibility points, which are all the more yearned-for considering how much of those we currently DON'T have in a so-called president. Color me EXTREMELY impressed. This is such an impressive subliminal and visceral strategy that it almost takes my breath away!
That is BEYOND-shrewd thinking! Glad it's on our side! Not to mention relieved!
Whoever came up with this needs to be named White House Press Secretary or Communications Director in Biden's (or ANY victorious Democrat's) White House.

(9,802 posts)coming from a place of sincere caring and concern rather than ego and self-aggrandizement. People recognize the real thing and respond on an emotional level. Obama did the same. Truly comforting in times of turmoil.

(7,440 posts)Yeah, me neither.
What a great and uplifting talk by Joe!
So mature.
So calming.
So Presidential.
My new laptop has what's called a 'lock screen'.. it's what I see when I open it up in the morning or whenever, and after clicking 'enter' I'm brought to the wallpaper photo of my choice.
Here's the thing - I placed a really nice picture of Joe on the lockscreen - it fills the screen just like the wallpaper photo. No matter what time of day I open the laptop, I see Joe smiling at me and giving me confidence that YES, we WILL get through this - together.
And I get a kick out of looking Joe in the eye and saying "Good Morning, President Biden" or "Good afternoon", etc.
But hot-damn, it feels GREAT to be enthusiastic again when saying the word 'President'!!
GO JOE!!!

(3,898 posts)Don't think people won't remember that in November, when they think back to Biden's speech on the health crisis as compared to the way Trump has bumblefucked around for months now, and then ask themselves which of the two they'd rather have in charge.
