Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumTo prove you're electable, you have to win elections, and Biden is doing that.
I have many Bernie-supporting friends on social media who are convinced Bernie is the more electable candidate, because they see him as the fiery candidate who can turn out the base. In their mind, Biden is an old, white man or appeals only to old, white men. I have seen people truly baffled at the idea that Biden can beat Trump.
Especially after tonight, I don't think anyone can make the argument that Bernie is more electable. Biden is the one bringing out a cross section of voters. Bernie can claim he has high support from youth and the Latino community, but that is all. It hasn't manifested in any tangible advantage. Losing handily in a diverse state such as Florida (which will be a battleground come fall) is clear how flawed his candidacy is.
I have my issues with Biden, but if the number one issue is beating Trump, then I think it's apparent at this point who your candidate is.

In 2016, Bernie couldn't beat Hillary, but polls at the same time consistently showed he was stronger than Hillary against Trump. It's two different contests, with no direct relationship between them.
Though polls this time do favor Biden over Sanders in head-to-heads against Trump.
