Puerto Rico government asks Florida festival attendants to quarantine and not to visit family for 14 days
The Guaya Guaya Fest held on Saturday and the Zalsa Fest on Sunday featured thousands of people clustered without distancing and without wearing masks in Orlando as COVID-19 cases continue to be high in both Puerto Rico and Florida.
The eventproduced by La Kalle Productionswas supposed to comply with CDC guidelines for social distancing, masks and other protocols, the organizers told El Sentinel Orlando in an interview before the event.
However, the activity, which had not been held in Puerto Rico for years, took place at the Central Florida Fairgrounds where it had more than 10,000 participants present, according to event organizers.
On social media, conflicting opinions were found among those who published photos and videos celebrating the event versus those who were lamenting that they did not comply with distancing and very few were wearing masks.
