Cannabis
Related: About this forumAnyone catch 60 Minutes cannabis hit piece tonight?
What a propaganda pantload and you can be assured was paid for by big pharma.
The same jackals who are trying to defeat Proposition 61 here in California.

(45,806 posts)legal pot. I found it amusing that that Dr kept using the words "might" "could" and "maybe" but no firm statements of fact. The bias was really obvious. SOMEBODY got 60 Minutes to run this right before the electio where legalizing pot is on quite a few ballots. It made me lose a lot of respect in 60 Minutes. They almost always do a really good job in their reporting. This time, if they decided to air this program, they should have also included the pro side.
Well said.
They sucked tonight with their "research has shown" BS.

(96,439 posts)Californians, and it could actually disrupts access to needed medications, along with an increase in prices.
I voted for proposition 64 though, but not because I smoke it.

(3,853 posts)kind of drug while pregnant. Duh. Cops still wasting time and resources going after pot growers. It figures. Teenagers shouldn't drink, smoke or take drugs because they are not adults. Duh. And the governor who was against legalizing recreational pot is kind of ok with it now but thinks neighboring states should wait a while before they legalize it. Give me a break.
Shame on 60 minutes. Come to think of it,lots of commercials aired during 60 Minutes ARE ads for (legal) drugs.

This was a very slanted report and so very corporate. Reminded me why I stopped watching 60 minutes.

(80,708 posts)So it probably wasn't going to convince too many people either way.
I didn't see it, but I read the website- the comments seem to be universally negative.
And the thing is, by every objective metric legalization has been a resounding success in CO, WA, OR.

(3,286 posts)On everything, so when they advertise a story on cannabis I know they will have nothing new. Luckily, there was something more enlightening on another channel.....a baseball game or American Pickers??? I can't remember...

(374 posts)one thing in favor of making it legal is the money the government can make off it.
Why should organized crime make the money off of it?
Btw, pot is not addictive. This I know from personal experience.
It sure would make me happy. I am a cancer survivor.
The last time I went to pick up my pain medicine prescription I was drug tested. I am sure they were looking for pot use.
Then they would use that for an excuse to stop my pain meds, I'm sure.
