Cannabis, coco and training...
Out of the greenhouse into the grow tent. This is the first coco coir cannabis grow. Last grow I experimented with a total organic grow using Comfrey and Worm Castings for fertilizing. The medium was one we used for all our grow bags for veggies. Blend of peat moss, humus, perlite, vermiculite. I went to coir because of the sustainability of the product and the increased aeration that it gives the medium.
When I started growing it was in a total water hydroponic system, bubbleponics, water aerated with air stones along with the fertilizers. Very time consuming but my rootballs were huge, in the last soil mix the roots looked as if they needed more room. I grow in 7 gallon grow bags.
Coco coir will allow the roots to spread without much resistance due to its aerating properties.
This training is the most disciplined Ive ever been. I use ground staples to bend the plant and hold it close to the ground allowing the side branches to develop into better structures. Started when the plant reached its 4th node of growth I gently bent the plant down and held it there with the staples, tucked the shade leaves under the main stem giving better light to the side branches.
Absolutely no cutting of the plant is done at this stage. No topping, no fimming no defoliating.
Letting nature do its thing after I bent it slightly to my wants.
Here you can see the three staple holding the plant down.
This is Acapulco Gold Auto. Hopefully you can see the side branches making new top colas. Gotta tuck those shade leaves under.
This is Amnesia from the outside, you saw the main stem bent in the first pic. Bunches of tops coming in. Notice the main stem towards the middle of the bag, looks like a caterpillar coming out of the ground, furthest from the leaves is where she came from the ground.
All those lower branches now exposed will give bigger buds. They would have developed buds but little, light stuff.
Oh well, most growing is experimenting and a fair amount of gambling. Along with those two I have three Magic Melons in various ages of development not into training yet.
