Minnesota Lynx sharpshooter is latest WNBA star to join Unrivaled Basketball League
Kayla McBride is the latest addition to Unrivaled, a brand-new three-on-three womens professional basketball league slated to begin in January and run throughout the WNBA offseason.
McBride is a four-time All-Star and one of the leagues best three-point shooters shes been a wildly consistent scorer throughout her 11-year WNBA career, and has never averaged below double-digit points. This season, shes averaging 16.4 points and 3.4 assists per game, and is shooting 42.7% from beyond the arc as a member of the Minnesota Lynx.
Unrivaled, founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, is player-owned league during the WNBA offseason that will have a minimum salary of $100,000. Games will be played three nights a week, and the league will be made up of six teams with five players each. Theres also a one-on-one tournament, with the winner earning a prize of at least $250,000, according to Collier.
