It sounds like they don't really know what the petroglyphs mean (or at least not when the article was written). It would be interesting to know if any more current research had been done.

I've always believed there were many explorers from around the globe who made it here before Columbus. I'm curious about any Native American folklore that might include stories about encountering some of these people. Does anyone have some to share?
