Boss pledges to help sick kids

A Heanor businessman is pledging a share of cash from new contracts he lands to help terminally-ill children go on a dream trip to Florida.

Bret Harrison, who owns Excel Cleaning Solutions, on Newlands Road, is to give 15 per cent of profits from all new business to help the youngsters, some of whom havejust months to live, go on the holiday to Disney World as part of a scheme run by Caudwell Children.

...

He said: “Each week Rebecca from Caudwell Children speaks about the wonderful work that the charity does. One week she spoke about the fact that the charity was facing the possibility of not being able to hold its
annual Destination Dreams trip due to lack of funds.

“The thought of these children and families not being able to have what might be the only holiday they would get as a family really touched me and I felt compelled to help.”

Not only find and share the good being done out there, but engage it and encourage more of the same.

Maybe we can keep track of the businesses that are DOING GOOD (and not because they get a write-off or PR, but because it's a heartfelt desire to help) and I can do a Wishadoo! Business of the Week/Month Award or something???

So many tools set up and such little time and energy to make use of them. *sigh*

But, hey, we're doing good by finding it as a start, right?
