But of course it happened in Texas, that shining example of how to solve problems through responsible gun display and ownership.

Some may remember it for the bad fires a few years back. Most recently it was the center of anti-Jade Helm paranoia.
There's a lot of guns in Bastrop.

(28,724 posts)As tragic as this event in Bastrop is, it'll likely be eclipsed by a bigger shooting incident in another state before week's end. Gun violence is a national problem---I shouldn't have to remind anyone of that grim fact.

(6,641 posts)the open display of lethal weapons in their legislation and culture and walk around bragging about it. That was the point of my remark, and I stand by it. The message is if you have a problem, solve it with a gun because of the "Second Amendment, and Liberty, and Freedom" bullshit.
Yes, there will be more atrocious gun violence events in almost every state, and those of us who want to change the "guns for everyone, everywhere culture" to a "safe gun culture" will point those out as examples of how not to deal with a problem.
I realize that not all residents of Texas are gun nuts, and I apologize if I have offended you. I wish things were different -- but facts are facts.
