In this Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, file photo, high school students protest in opposition of Donald Trump's presidential election victory in San Francisco. Thousands of high school students have taken to the streets in cities across the country since Donald Trump's election to protest his proposed crackdown on illegal immigration and his vulgar comments about women. It's an unusual show of political involvement on the part of young people who can't even vote yet. And experts say it can lead to increased activism when they are adults. The biggest and most well-known way women are objecting to Trump is the Womens March on Washington, headed by three women of color and expected to draw hundreds of thousands. But women are leading the resistance in many other ways, from a teen magazine that called out Trump when the rest of the media still dealt in false equivalencies to a flood of Planned Parenthood donations made in Mike Pences name.

(23,164 posts)Were going to DC for the march from San Francisco. I was so excited for them. I just don't like going into big crowds otherwise I'd go with them.

(80,708 posts)It was appalling how the media ignored it. The cable networks spent all day talking about Estee Lauder's death and casing NASCAR events for drunk Bush supporters.
Infuriating.

(26,114 posts)Women and their allies will continue as long as the predator in chief is around. The biggest problem trump will have with this, is that it involves women that he knows nothing about. We are not trophy wives willing to put up with anything he wants just to keep our sugar daddy. He has probably never been around women who fight back, who will NOT be told what to do or when to do it, who will treat him with utter contempt as well as mockery, and who will NOT stfu when he says to. We cannot be bought, bribed, or bullied into doing a damn thing. He will see us wherever he goes, at home or abroad, and we will be jeering, not cheering. And he will wonder "who are these creatures?" We are women, and we WILL be in his face and hopefully in his nightmares.

(27,197 posts)But I looked at my husband today..he gets his healthcare through the VA, and said, you're in danger, man! You want to keep this healthcare? You better be ready to hit the streets too. I'm planning on showing up at every protest.
