History of Feminism
Related: About this forumthis heart thing is interesting. but...
i do not feel the joy and love, i have in the past, for oh say..... decade. that would be ten years of fun, in the connection on february 14.
we have had some that, days before valentine hearts, have stated in GD, that they would use valentines day to bring flamewars. again, specifically calling out this group and individuals, as we truly mind our own business. some have even walked off the board.
come out and play, they yelll. let us insult you and degrade you, and dismiss you for chuckles, and jury allow it to be.
the last day, i have been receiving hearts. thank you.
this and the christmas season, have always been such a positive fav for me.
this year is different.
BUT.... (and but means regardless of all i say above), it is so so nice, to receive a heart. and nice.... works for me.
thank you

(38,140 posts)I don't spend near the time on DU that I used to & once I start seeing the ads, it will be even less. I expect to get more things on my to-do list checked off.

(7,820 posts)But it has been a rough year on DU, and those who were regulars in HoF, for sure. But I'll still take the hearts as a chance to celebrate those I enjoy reading and occasionally even talking to on DU. (And you're very much one of those, Sea) I'm sure some who got one of my few hearts would not only be surprised, but would have no idea who I even am.

(7,820 posts)That was very nice.

i am in the process of selling my house, and buying another. the last couple week. what a challenge they make selling a house today, and a mess. but, i am almost thru that.
life is good. and i hope, i am sure, it is with you also.

(15,063 posts)yup. When the admins allow certain words to be used and will not take a stand on words being used in feminist forums and the jury allowing, fuck membership.
Aside from that the hearts are fun to see. I just wish they were tied to a charity instead of membership.

all of us that looked so good, shining our stars, for over a decade, now do without. says something.

(10,720 posts)There are still lots of good people on this site, but so many have been either run off, or cowed into silence, that it really isn't much fun for me to participate anymore. I still read the site a good bit, but it no longer seems like a particularly good use of my time (or my money).
Real-life Valentine's Day kind of sucks too.
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)posting, lol.
personally, i was never a fan of real life valentines day. but, hearts on du, for me, was more the essence of the idea.
