Text on shirt:
1. You have no problem with the gender wage gap. But you hate having to pay for dates.
2. You insist that its a scientifically proven fact that men are stronger than women. But you complain about society believing that its worse for a man to hit a woman than for a woman to hit a man.
3. You believe that the age of consent is unfair and that theres nothing wrong with having sex with teenage girls. But when you find out that a teenage girl enjoys sex, you believe shes the biggest slut in the world.
4. You hate when a woman automatically assumes that a man is a douchebag before getting to know him. But when you like a woman who likes another man, you assume hes a douchebag just because hes not you.
5. You believe that if women want equality, they should be drafted into the military. But you also believe that the military is not a place for women.
6. You hate when women assume that men are like wild animals. But you believe that a woman who doesnt cover up and make herself invisible to men is just like someone wearing a meat suit around wild animals.
7. You hate the fact that men are bullied for not conforming to their male gender roles. But when you find out that a man disagrees with your beliefs about womens rights, your immediate response is to try to emasculate him by comparing him to a woman as an insult.
8. You hate when women assume that there are no nice guys. But you call yourself a nice guy and act like its a rare quality that should cause women to be all over you.
9. You hate when women assume that men just want to get laid. But when you find out that a man is a feminist, you assume that hes just doing it to get laid.
10. You hate when women make generalizations about all men. But when a woman calls you out for being sexist, you claim that all men think like you.
11. You insist that women should be responsible for protecting themselves from being raped. But when they follow the one piece of advice that actually works, which is being aware of red flags, you complain about them assuming that all men are rapists.

(5,714 posts)who project their own personal feelings of inferiority and inadequacy onto women. Seems like they make a lot of noise online though, even on supposedly "progressive" sites like this one.
I'll add another one that I've seen: "You complain about women having unrealistic standards for men. But you also hold women to impossible standards of beauty or "hotness."

(52,568 posts)You insist that the gender wage gap is a myth because women don't work as much as men because they take time off to have kids AND you say that alimony should be outlawed.
I have another!
You acknowledge that the alpha-male hierarchy that men set up among themselves is destructive to both men and women, and the source of many of the greatest problems in our world AND you insist that it is the fault of women because women only ever choose alpha men.
Another! You insist that women only choose alpha men.

While it is true that, as a general matter, men have greater upper-body strength than women (and that as a general matter, women have greater lower-body strength then men), I do not think it should matter one whit, either in law or in societal beliefs or expectations, that it should be deemed worse that a man act violently towards a woman than a woman acting violently toward a man. Both are bad and one is not inherently worse than the other.
I remember back in my college days (back in the 80s), on a night of club-hopping with friends, seeing a scene of a woman waylaying on a man, fists to face, kicking, the whole nine yards (had to be someone she knew, a date, a boyfriend, something, based on the things she was yelling at him). He was cowering, trying to protect himself, and then, he struck back. Immediately, a group from the street that had been watching this descended upon him and beat him even worse, yelling, "Dude, you don't hit a girl!" And the man was arrested. Not only was the woman not arrested, she suffered no opprobrium whatsoever from the crowd that was watching this horrible scene.
I'm sorry, but that's a double standard that favors women that I can't accept.

(2,930 posts)I was addressing the concept (that seemed to me to being put forth by inversion in the OP) that a man hitting a woman is, in and of itself, worse than a woman hitting a man.
I see it as nothing but paternalism (and condescension) to say "boys don't hit girls" as a matter of chivalry or whatever but the converse is hardly ever spoken (certainly wasn't when I was growing up (although I was frequently told I had to be "ladylike" , and I don't hear it much today).

(13,324 posts)So yeah, generally speaking a man hitting a much smaller woman would be worse than him hitting someone his own size.
