But just curious- why didn't the GD hosts lock it if there was majority opinion to do so?

as more time passed a few more hosts weighed in to the contrary.

Hosts are not supposed to lock in a major forum without CONCENSUS (and some hosts argue that that means unanimous support, not just majority).

That is why one turn hosting in that group was enough for me. Also, the fact that the Never Lock Brigade were mostly not even Hosts in GD but they kept butting in and turning the forum into META.

Glad you can put up with it.

That the objectification of women is A-OK in GD.

I didn't expect anything else.

I cannot believe that people have a hard time understanding that the objectification of women and girls is the underlying problem and not prudishness.

It is objectification - the valuing of women solely on their looks and not their worth as human beings - that causes much of the other problems women face in society.

it's not a difficult concept to grasp.

and have moved on. The ones that don't get it, don't care to Get it. They are happy in it.

There may be a time and place for everything but, DU should never be the place for this type of crap.
They can do this crap on their own time, in another place.
