Janis Jopins last interview-- on rejection

Four days before she died. She had quite a bit of insight, but she had been dying inside for a long time by the time of the interview. The sound quality is hard to hear and for some reason they animated it, and interspersed it with clips of her amazing voice

at that time in space, she viewed other women as competition for male adulation.

She's one of my favorite singers ever. I spent my teens adoring her and her music.

It's so tragic she didn't live long enough to see break free from the bullshit conditioning women are subjected to.

she had to fight her own demons first, yanno.

the tortured soul of an artistic genius is not easily understood or accepted by mainstream bourgeoisie.

This male-dominated society really does a number on women.

but, really redqueen, it does a number on all of us.

the men that are aware realize it and, are speaking out.

Trying to be heard above the noise. Their voice is getting stronger. I hear it and

We must listen for them and to them.

Fraternity.

Kindness.

But seeing as how they're the group with the privilege in the context of sexual dynamics, I don't cut much slack.

Like, hardly any.

I don't even acknowledge those that choose to remain stupidly unaware.

I just do not have the time for it.

her mostly from my older siblings, who were fans, but I don't remember her being attacked by feminists. Was she?

She was before my time, but it sounds like some random criticism the interviewer brought up.

What gets me is this was done 4 days before she od'd

And she said the same thing - she didn't remember being attacked.

Why would he throw that shit out there, I wonder.

The PTB can't have an effective, rebellious hero to lead women out of the oppressive, submissive, subservient abyss we have been herded into.

This is a slick video and there are more made by the same artist about other rock performers. It is subtle and it may just be that the artist lacks the talent to capture Joplin's essence, but that animation just looks like the "Woman's Day" standard version of a hippie.
