"Israel, US discussing extending Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon"
This is the headline from an article from the Lebanese news site Naharnet dated 01/23/25 and sourced from the Associated Press. As little surprise to anybody the supposed terms in the "breakthrough" agreement are about as valid as an expired coupon to a closed down restaurant. There has been constant problems from all sides and the withdrawal on the scheduled date is easily seen as illusory.
But I guess we are supposed to have "hope" because according to the article there may or may not be some "understanding" but it seems to be conflicting stories again. Again and again. The villagers reportedly are having none of this and they have vowed to return to their homes on the date promised.
It's a safe bet that the IDF isn't leaving as scheduled, the Lebanese government and armed forces will complain, Hezbollah will fire some rockets and then here we go again. More dead villagers and civilians.
But supposedly the "good news" is that the Israeli government has said that the IDF military operations in the West Bank are putting in place the strategy and tactics they learned in Gaza. Here we go again.
