Fishy Fleet Crashes Monsanto Shareholders Meeting

The Fishy Fleet crashed the Monsanto shareholders meeting today in St. Louis, MO resulting in the arrests of ten peaceful activist and towing of several activists’ vehicles.

Per WTFRLY, two resolutions on the safety and environmental impact of GMO crops were presented to investors at the Monsanto shareholders meeting today.

The first resolution was from activist Adam Eidinger who works closely with Occupy Monsanto was aimed at creating labeling guidelines for foods containing genetically modified material. This proposal was voted down with only 4% in favor.

The second resolution calling for Monsanto to generate info on the environmental impacts of GMO cultivation came from activist investor John Harrington of Harrington Investments. The proposal was voted down with only 6% support.

Monsanto protesters arrested, GMO shareholder resolutions fail
The protest took on a decidedly more confrontational tone at 2 p.m when activists used five brightly-decorated cars to block inbound and outbound traffic at Monsanto's main entrance at Olive, between Lindbergh Boulevard and Warson Road.

A large Creve Coeur police contingent spent the next hour clearing the entrance and arresting protesters, some of whom locked themselves in or chained themselves to the cars. Among those arrested were an unidentified man wearing a giant rat suit and a musician from Los Angeles, Rafi Loiederman, who said he came to the protest to keep pressure on Monsanto.

"If we don't deal with GMOs now, everything is going to be contaminated," Loiederman said.

Creve Coeur Police Chief Glenn Eidmann said there were 11 arrests on unspecified municipal charges — all misdemeanors.

"Nobody was hurt and no property was damaged," Eidmann said.

I know it will happen eventually, it always does as history shows. But I hope it happens before they do any more harm to this planet and its people.

Kudos to all the Protesters who are the heroes of these awful times.
