Eye on Occupy: Occupy Eugene protesters face court

Last edited Wed Jan 2, 2013, 04:43 PM - Edit history (1)

A pair of Occupy Eugene members have Jan. 10 court dates after they disregarded instructions to leave a public plaza outside the Federal Building in downtown Eugene, the site of several recent, prolonged political demonstrations.

Emily Semple and Terry Purvis were detained and ticketed late Saturday night for failing to comply with posted signs, a minor federal charge that carries a potential fine upon conviction.

Semple said Monday that Federal Protective Service officers who issued the citations did not handcuff her or Purvis before allowing them to walk free.

Their cases will be handled in U.S. District Court in Eugene.

(Sorry, screwed up the post and lost the link. This is where it's from, which is worth seeing as an Occupy source.)
