Email message sent out today:With your help, my Mom and I were able to get Citibank to cancel the Sheriffs sale and make a deal that will let us keep our home.
I am deeply grateful to everyone from across the country who stood with our family as we fought our foreclosure.
Im inspired by the outpouring of community support, and it renews my commitment to stand with other families who are struggling to stay in their homes.
This negotiation represents a victory not just for our family, but for millions of families facing foreclosures across the country. Countless families could stay in their homes if banks simply modified their loans based on the actual market value and reduced their principal, instead of the price to which banks inflated them before they crashed our economy.
As with Monique White and Bobby Hull in Minneapolis, and others standing up across the nation, we see that when a community stands behind a family and draws attention to their case, the banks are more than capable of solving it. If they can fix it for our family, they can fix it for millions of others.
Here in Minneapolis Ive been working alongside Alejandra and David Cruz in their fight to stop PNC Bank and Freddie Mac from taking their family home. Theres zero reason PNC and Freddie cant give the Cruzes the same deal me and my family got from Citibank.
Will you join me in asking PNC Bank and Freddie Mac to give Alejandra and David a fair deal that will keep them in their familys home?

(5,604 posts)Really awesome, and newsWORTHY. Every few weeks I'm heartened to hear a story about a family fighting off the banks and keeping their homes with the help of Occupy, and their communities.
When the MSM wants to waste our time with feel good stories, why not cover something patriotic and American as apple pie as a community coming together to keep their neighbours off the street. Oh wait.... Occupy is supposed to be dead. And they're all just good for nothing spoiled hipsters. And banks spend millions on vacuous news hour advertising. right.
If I'm not mistaken this is the same Nick Espinosa, who along with an other Occupy Colleague explained how Occupy is not dead, growing, evolving and scoring victories like these. But of course I saw that on Monday's Alyona Show.

Congrats to all of them.
