I guess my lifestyle is desirable for the moment. Im not a hermit but it doesnt bother me to stay home. I have a couple weeks worth of food; as long as I can get out for a walk, which is supposed to be ok, Im fine with it.

(11,780 posts)Theres food available just not sanitizer and TP. I wouldnt get stressed. Ive been making that a part of my daily walk; stop in the store to see how its going. In a week or so Ill take my car and restock but fortunately a small grocery is pretty close.

(18,281 posts)...like the cartoon said 'Ive been training for this all my life'!. I live on 5 acres of forest and the snows nearly gone but its been high 40s so Ive had the door open so the dogs can run in out in out in out.
Ive got 3 freezers of food , 2 cases of wine and lots of other stuff to keep me busy. Dog food on subscription. Hubby still has to work so he stops by a grocery store every morning when its empty and grabs extra food. I still cant find dry beans.

I suppose I have more practice than the rest of society.

(2 posts)Hi all: New to forum and this group. I'm deeply concerned about what is happening on many levels, but most of all for those people severely disadvantaged by poverty. I'm 67 and this is an amazing experience to go through at this point in my life: I'm practicing safety and trying to encourage others to do the same.
At the same time, it is a cool, glorious Spring: my clematis have been blooming for weeks and weeks; Their energy is so intense I think I see them vibrating. It's wondrous to listen to the crows talk to each other, the woodpecker peck, with my faithful cat and Chihuahua.
The skies are mostly quiet: no planes, no jet trails. I don't go on the road much, but no trucks and, for me, enormously stressful traffic. Very few people about. I live in a state that's like a forest down south; everything is brilliantly green right now.
I've lived alone most of my adult life, and I must admit that solitude is a peaceful, safe and enlightening place to live. I am a professor, I was, before this pandemic, dealing with students and colleagues daily. The isolation has alleviated most of my stress related to work. I wouldn't mind a little bit more human contact, but I'm mostly blissful right now communing a lot with nature, like us old hippies do.
So that's what I've been up to, tending to many beautiful plants...
