Update on the "psychic" and the professor...
Looks like she's lost, completely.
update (6/21/24): Guillard (the tiktok psychic) has been found liable for the defamatory remarks against Professor Scofield by a judge, and the judge has granted Professor Scofield's request to add punitive damages. in other words, the tiktok psychic has lost the defamation case. now, the case will be brought before a jury, so that a jury can determine the amount of damages that the tiktok psychic owes to the defamed professor, both in terms of liability, which is the amount of money the professor has lost due to this incident, including lost opportunities, mental health related medical bills, lawyer's fees and court costs, ect, and in terms of punitive damages, which are extra damages that are meant to punish Ashley Guillard by making an example out of her, to discourage other people from imitating her behavior in the future. I suspect that the liabilities will not be that much, however, I also suspect that the punitive damages will be extreme, thanks to Ashley Guillard's own public statements and behavior, such as using the Professor's original Cease and Desist letter as toilet paper on her tiktok, and Ashley Guillard's suggestion that she would simply flee to Bali to avoid accountability for her actions. let's see if I'm a better psychic than Ashley Guillard - only time will tell.
