Remember how the Tower card showed up in reading after reading for weeks?
So today i thought" this is the tower moment"...and was told this is just ONE of the tower moments.
A little bit ago sat down with a deck and asked what is going on with the orange menace?
It shows him sitting pretty and not really worried...he has gone full madman.
And the card in the near future was...wait for it... the TOWER...and the ultimate card the Eight of Swords.
i know you guys have been getting messages as well...please share if so moved.
Thanks

(1,232 posts)I’m very new to this.
I’ve never really followed it, but it’s where I’ve landed for hope
So trying to understand when people talk about this and read the cards. What exactly the meanings are.

(369 posts)was originally called "the lightning struck tower" . It implies a bolt out of the blue causing destruction of a castle. It means unexpected fortune, either for good or hardship. Usually, but not always, negative. Today was definitely a tower moment.
Swords are related to the Air element, the mind. The Eight implies being tied up by circumstances and making it worse for yourself by your own choices. The Swords suit in the Tarot has the most "bad" cards followed by the Cups (Water).
Any questions on the Tarot or the meaning of individual cards...if you just google it a whole bunch of good info will come up, unless AI is screwing with it now, of course lol. Google free Tarot reading and a very good site comes up, among others.

(1,232 posts)Lightning bolt out of the blue is interesting
Cause sometimes I often think of him at one of his rallies and then out of the clear blue sky comes a lightning bolt striking down

Shocking! I tell you.
Found on the internet.

(30,371 posts)you might want to own your own deck of cards. There are many different decks and styles, my own deck is Motherprsce Round deck. This one is female centric and teaches about the Goddess with a Buddhist slant.
But the standard is Waite deck. It has the standard card shape. I started with that deck, but I love my Motherpeace cards.

(1,232 posts)I was looking at a few. I think it was Amazon and trying to figure out what was a good one.

i personally started with the Thoth deck. Very intense and complex but fascinating.
i am now also loving Spirit Within Tarot by Steven Bright. The pictures are a little bit Rider Waite and the book is very much aligned with Thoth. On Ebay

It takes quite a while to really learn...it's a language so be patient. What really helped me is to shuffle the deck, pick a card, and then wait and see what happens that day as you live your life. After a while, it will start tripping you out lol...and you will get direct experience of the Tarot and not just from a book.
Blessings

(62,493 posts)Each suit follows a story in mythology, making meanings of cards easier to discern, but Liz Greene & Juliet Sharman Burke, the cocreators are both astrologers (astro.com - lots of free reports & charts there) & Jungian Analysts.
The way I learned to read tarot was to immediately verbalize the first thoughts I had after flipping a card face up. Worked like a charm. Lol
Also, imo, the type of info you are likely to pick up from a deck is often dependent or at least heavily influenced by the intention of the person(s) who created it. Example: The Mythic Tarot tends to reveal psychological dynamics, whereas Hanson Roberts tends to show more mundane aspects of life.the Inner Child deck has absolutely gorgeous artwork & is based upon fairy tales...
Loads of great books are available on tarot & goodness knows the symbology holds infinite potential for interpretations, but you will learn by watching Maryanne & others do readings.
Once you choose a deck, you can practice by laying out a few cards, then formulating a sentence about what you are seeing.
It's an interesting journey. Enjoy!
And, of course, our community here is always open for discussion on such matters. I for one would welcome a hearty discussion on the tarot!
Sallie Nichols' book Jung and the Tarot, an Archetypal Journey is exceptional if you happen to be a fan of Joseph Campbell.
to have the Motherpeace deck - loved them!

(62,493 posts)Just a bit nicer artwork, imo, but art is subjective. Lol
There is also the Rider Waite Radiant deck, another I just love. (I have dozens of decks. Lol)

(520 posts)Don't know much about this stuff but I've always been interested. Especially since November 6th when everything went out of control. Looking for clues of what could possibly happen. An inkling of Hope.
When I first read your post I thought maybe you were referring to the aviation thing that's happening right now but that's today and you wrote this on Tuesday please forgive me I don't remember what was happening Tuesday, what were you referring to that particular day so much has happened since then. 😳😬

(369 posts)i just asked an open ended question of the cards about the Orange Menace's near future and that's what they gave me...and it aligned with all the other readers it seemed.
Timing is the hardest thing with the Tarot. Time is not linear in the spiritual world and the guides won't usually respond to questions about a specific date. In my experience anyway. YMMV

(520 posts)Wild. I heard a YouTuber also predict a plane crash so that's kind of crazy, very interesting stuff. Thank you for the kind reply, keep up the good work.

(80 posts)This morning did a political reading and got the tower crossed by the 8 of swords crowned by justice. The final card was the devil. I'm really, really hoping this is just my anxiety and not an accurate reading. I should know better than to read when I'm a bundle of emotions, but the similar cards in your post caught my attention.
moonbeam23
(369 posts)The fact that the center cards have Justice above them is hopeful. i rarely have read on 45 when i HAVEN'T gotten the Devil...i always expect it lol...
He is the Magician card also...
Personally, i have found that 5 cards work best for quick readings. Past, Present, Future, one card Below and then the bottom of the deck. The bottom of the deck has always been critical, IMHO.
If you get a reading like the one that you describe, that disturbs or puzzles you, you can always do a clarification. i usually put another 3 cards on that card. it would be interesting to see what comes up on that devil card.
See the wonderful interpretation of the eight of swords that Clouds Passing gave in reply#10.
Thanks for the input...it seems that we are all on the same page..
